Police Bans Social And Political Activities In Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has banned political rallies and other social activities in the state.
The action was taken at the end of the weekly Security Council meeting chaired by Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero.
The  state  Commissioner of Police, Mr Olufemi Adenaike who briefed journalists at the end of the meeting, said all political rallies, conferences, workshops and other social gatherings  within Kaduna  State command are banned until  further notice, except a duly certified clearance is obtained from the police.
He said the action was taken following reported incidents of bloody clashes by some hoodlums who tried to disrupt last Saturday’s Northern Youth Summit in Kaduna.
Mr. Adenaike advised any person or group wishing to organize any social gathering in the state to give the Police enough notice before going ahead with such event.
He also called on those bringing their social activities to Kaduna to take them to  other states rather than using such event to disrupt the fragile peace in the state.
Speaking on the incessant killings in Attakar community in Kaura local government and other parts of the southern part in the state, the Police commissioner said government has concluded plans to bring all the communities together rather than leaving very far from one another.
He identified bad roads and hilly terrain of the area as one of the major factors responsible for the attacks.
