Apple faces backlash over iOS7 downloading disaster

Many Twitter users complained of long downloading times for the system TWITTER

Many iPhone owners who attempted to download the new operating system had to wait hours for it to download- with many people failing to acquire it at all.

After its release at 6pm yesterday in the UK, millions rushed to download it.
However, many people had to go through several attempts to download the new software, with the error message "Software Update Failed: An error occurred whilst downloading iOS 7.0" being a common occurrence.

For others, long download times were the problem, with some systems taking up to 30 hours to install.

Memory space was also an issue, with some Twitter users complaining of having to delete all their apps and photos to acquire enough storage.

This morning, iPhone users took to social media in anger that their alarm clocks had failed to go off due to downloading the software overnight.
Despite this, the reviews of iOS7 have been favourable. It offers a cleaner, more streamlined look that has been crafted to make the iPhone screen look bigger.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook called the system "the biggest change to iOS since the introduction of the iPhone".

Apple are due to launch their new phones, the iPhone 5s and 5c, tomorrow. Despite pre-orders for the 5c being the lowest of any iPhone launch, fans are already queuing outside the Apple store on Regent Street in anticipation of the event.
