In-form Arsenal will be without the England starlet for their clash with the Rafa Benitez's unbeaten Partenopei, though Tomas Rosicky returns to the starting XI in his absence
Jack Wilshere has been named as a substitute for Arsenal's Champions League tie against Napoli, whileJuan Mata has been handed a start for Chelsea's fixture against Steaua Bucharest.
As exclusively revealed by Goal, an ankle problem has limited the England international to a place on the substitutes bench, though it allows Tomas Rosicky a starting berth after returning from injury.
Elsewhere, Spain international Mata has been rewarded for excellent displays against Swindon and Tottenham with a return to the Chelsea starting XI, having been asked to adapt to the side's new style by manager Jose Mourinho.
The 25-year-old is joined by compatriot Fernando Torres, who today escaped a ban for scratching Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen, while David Luiz, also briefly out of favour under the Portuguese boss, starts in central defence once again.
