Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City are set to fight it out in a bid to land Belgium's next big thing - 16-year-old Anderlecht midfielder, Youri Tielemans.
Tielemans joined Anderlecht as a schoolboy at the age of five, before working his way through the Brussels-based side's academy.
With Belgium boasting a number of up-and-coming young talents, catching the eye of Europe's elite is not easy, but Tielemans has already drawn scouts in from far and wide.
According to the Independent, Arsenal scout Ty Gooden has identified Tielemans - who netted a magnificent hat-trick for Beglium U16s against Germany in May - as a future star and has told Arsene Wenger to do all he can to bring the teen sensation to the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Manchester City came close to landing the sought-after starlet after club captain Vincent Kompany gave Tielemans a glowing reference, prompting Etihad officials to scout the 16-year-old sensation.
However, the youngster’s parents blocked any potential move, as they want him to finish his education in Belgium – which is the same route Kompany himself took during his time at Anderlecht.
Tielemans, who has been capped at U15, U16 and U21 level for Belgium, made his long-awaited first team debut in July against Sporting Lokeren after replacing injured midfielder Sacha Kljestan with just 25 minutes gone.
He didn't look out of place and his impressive displays at U15, U16 and U21 level for Belgium has led to Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas to monitor the player closely, with a move to White Hart Lane not out the question.
Tielemans is a terrific talent who has the potential to blossom into a top central midfielder. If he keeps developing as expected, you can be sure that when he eventually does become available for transfer, the Premier League will be the first destination on his list, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City keeping a close eye on the situation.
