52-yr-old accused of N4.5m fraud

A 52-year-old businessman, Oludare Olugbemi, was Monday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for allegedly obtaining N4.5 million under false pretext.
The defendant, who was arraigned before Magistrate Eniola Fabamwo, is facing a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, obtaining and stealing preferred against him by the police.
The prosecutor, Barth Nwaokoye, said that the defendant conspired with others at large to committed the offence at 2p.m. in Bode Thomas, Surulere on March 1.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum. She adjourned the matter to October 28, for mention.
