Police arrest 3 for car snatching in Enugu

The police in Enugu State have arrested three
suspects who allegedly snatched a Toyota Camry
car marked LSR 837 BM at the New Haven area of
the state. The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ebere
Amaraizu, said in a statement in Enugu on
Wednesday that the car was snatched at gun
point while the suspects were arrested at Nza
Street in the metropolis. He said the suspects were arrested following a
distress call made by the victim, John Ejero, on
Sunday. “ Meanwhile, investigations are in top gear as the
victim has identified the arrested suspects as the
people that robbed him,” Amaraizu said. The victim, according to the statement, thanked
the police for their intervention and urged
residents to always give the police information. It also said that Ejero advised people to always
give timely and useful information to the police
while making judicious use of the distress call
numbers made available by the command. The statement further quoted the Police
Commissioner, Adamu Mohammed, as assuring
residents of the state of adequate security. Mohammed, it added, appealed to the people to
cooperate with the police by offering timely and
useful information. (NAN)
