Six killed in fresh Plateau violence

Six persons have been killed in Bisichi village along Foron Road in Barkin Ladi Local
Government of Plateau State in the early hours of
Friday. Saturday Independent gathered from the affected
community that among those killed was a
pregnant woman and five men who were
returning from Bukuru, the headquarters of Jos,
South LGC to Foron district in neighbouring Barkin
Ladi local government council. The Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government
Hon. Emmanuel Loman, when contacted
confirmed the attack, disclosing that the six
people were ambush on their way to Foron and
Fan villages and the incident took place around
7:30a.m. on Friday. Loman said two of the victims were from Bwara,
while one was from Kakpwis in Foron district, and
the other three including the pregnant woman
were from Fan district of his local government
council. He described the attack as barbaric and sad,
coming at a time that peace has fully returned to
the local government.
He however called on the people of the locality to
remain calm as security agencies are putting
effort to make sure that the suspects are brought to book.
