Resident Doctors Threaten Strike, Give FG Two Weeks Ultimatum

The National Association of Resident Doctors
(NARD) has threatened to embark on an
indefinite strike if the Federal Government
fails to pay the accumulated salaries of the
doctors within two weeks. In a communiqué issued at the end of the
31sth Annual General Meeting held in Kano,
and signed by the National President, Dr. Jubril
Abdullahi, Sunday, the professionals said the
ultimatum was due to the refusal of the
government to implement the agreement in line with the provision under Integrated
Payroll Payment System. The communiqué added that the ultimatum
would end on the 30th of December, 2013,
with the warning that the doctors will no
longer rescind their decision on the strike.
