Real Madrid's £85 million world record signing Gareth Bale has taken on the mantle of ex- Los Blanco Mesut Ozil as the club's "king of the assist" by creating two goals last night.
The Welshman set up Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo against Rayo Vallecano, first with his his right foot and the second with his left. Both game after two good individual pieces of play.
The ex-Tottenham Hotspur has now provided four assists in the league this season, after the two he produced on Wednesday for the same two forwards.
Furthermore, the Welshman has scored three goals, giving him some decent figures in light of the problems which he had at the start of the season. His transfer had come under scrutiny due to the fact he was carrying an injury when he joined, which meant little playing time.
The Ronaldo-Benzema-Bale trident worked a treat again in Vallecas. Bale proved once again that he is a great partner for the Frenchman and the Portuguese.
Real were heavily-criticised by their fans for letting German Ozil - known as the "king of the assist" join Premier League leaders Arsenal in the summer. However, it now seems Ozil may soon be forgotten about.
