Happy Sunday people and to all our football fans, Happy Start to the EPL Season (unless of course you’re an arsenal fan). We resume our weekly review, Two To Review.
This week we hop on two tracks from the hottest name in entertainment, Dbanj and a rising star in the making, Pryse. Let’s get into it.
Dbanj – Raise You Glasses
Dbanj has everything to make a serious quality track, and in some cases it works perfectly, others not so much. This new track, Raise Your Glasses by Dbanj for Hennessy Artistry 2013 comes off as average. It’s not abysmal, but it’s certainly not memorable. You’ll listen to it, enjoy it, and go to the next track.
The beat by De-Vee is solid, and the overall tune is decent but the lyrics unfortunately are pretty weak. It almost makes the song lack direction and leaves us with no signature Dbanj lyric to take home.
I never shy away from speaking the truth and this is certainly not Dbanj’s best work by any standards. It works for the occasion but outside that, it wont go down in memory as Dbanj’s memorable songs.

Pryse – Kolo Remix ft. Burna Boy
New joint from the punchline queen, Pryse and overall it does well to improve her brand as one of the nicest femcees in these parts of Africa. Even though it’s a remix to an old track, it refreshes and almost comes off as new and serious upgrade from the original.
With MI on the beat, and Burna boy as a feature it’s hard to see how this will go wrong. Even though it’s a remix it would’ve been nice to see Pryse switch up the lyrics of her verses seeing as she’s improved quite a bit since 2010 (when the original was released), but nonetheless it’s decent enough. Burna boy steals the show though with his verse, and does what he does best.
Overall the track is an enjoyable one, and one that can make the ipod playlist.
