Two inmates who escaped from the Ogwashi-Uku prison at different dates have been recaptured after massive manhunt and intelligence gathering by officers and men of the Delta State Command of the Nigerian Prison Service.
The names of the recaptured inmates are Louis Achollo Etomi and Sunday Acholo wo are said to be cousins. They escaped from the Ogwashi-Uku prison on different dates but were recaptured the same week after a massive manhunt which paid off Friday.
Their offences include conspiracy, kidnapping, robbery and stealing.
The former who is an awaiting trial inmate was remanded in prison on December 14, 2011 by an Asaba High Court with charge no A/15c/2012 and the later who is a convict, was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment on May 13, 2013 by a Delta Magistrate’s court sitting at Ibusa.
The newly posted officer in-charge of Ogwashi-Uku Prison, Deputy Controller of Prisons, DCP, John igbavboa with his men are working round the clock to forestall future re-occurrence and also ensure that sanity was restored to the Ogwashi-Uku prison
