When manager Pep Guardiola embarked on his first summer with Bayern Munich, he made signing Thiago Alcantara—a midfielder he was familiar with from their Barcelona days—a top priority, eventually signing him. 
Now, he'll be without the Spanish playmaker for up to seven weeks, as Alcantara has suffered a torn ankle ligament.
