A teenage boy has drowned today at the bar beach in Lagos.
Despite NEMA’s regarding the bar beach, these warnings were however not heeded.
According a witness, the bar beach was filled with a huge number of fun seekers, with only two life guards on duty at the beach.
The teenage boy was spotted by a few people who were standing at the tip of the ocean and according to the video footage rescue efforts by three guys did not pay off as they could not summon the courage to go close to the teenage boy due to the high current of the ocean and he watched struggling to stay afloat till he eventually drowned.
However, fun seekers continued with their fun like nothing unfortunate happened.
And at the time of this report, no one came out to complain of their missing teenage boy as lady who initially thought it was her brother raised an alarm while rescue operations was on, but she was calm after she found out that it was not her brother after all that was inside the ocean.
