Remy Set to Join Newcastle on a Season-Long Loan Deal.

Newcastle United are closing in on another
French striker Loic Remy, who has
understandably traveled to Tyne side for a
medical and set to sign a season-long loan
deal, subjected to agreement of personal
terms with the Magpies. Loic Remy. Newcastle had earlier tried to sign Remy from
Olympique Marseille early January but the deal
failed to materialise as the 26-year-old opted
for a higher financial package understood to
be more than £70,000 a week from the then
relegation threatened Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in an £8m deal. Remy’s six goals for Rangers last season failed
to help the Loftus Road club remain in the top
tier of the English league. The Frenchman,
who earlier in the summer was in the books of
Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion
and Arsenal, is set to become Newcastle’s first major signing. Newcastle are also hopeful of signing
Bafetimbi Gomis after agreeing an £8m fee
with Olympique Lyon. Remy has earned 18 caps with the French
national team, scoring four goals in the
process.
