IG orders redeployment of 14 CPs

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar, has ordered the redeployment of 14 Commissioners of Police to commands and various formations.

Four of the commissioners are in charge state commands.
They are Lawal Tanko, (Borno); Ibrahim Ahmed, (Zamfara); Hilary Okpara, (Bayelsa), and Maigari Dikko, (Ebonyi).
Others are Adebayo Ajileye, Inspectorate; `E’ Depatment Force Headquarters, Adeola Adeniji; Border Patrol, Waheed Salau; Airport, Markus Danladi; Commandant, Police College, Maiduguri and Tonye Ebitibituwa, Training, ‘E’ Department, Force Headquarters.
Also affected are Hyacinth Dagala, Deputy Commandant, Police Academy, Kano; Lawal Shehu, Administration ‘E’ Department Force Headquarters; Ibrahim Adamu, Deputy Force Secretary; Abdul Danwawu, Armament and Salisu Abdullai, X Squad.
The statement urged the affected commissioners to step up the fight against all forms of criminality in their new commands and formations.
It urged them to leverage on the cordial relationship among sister security agencies in their beats to ensure that criminal activities were reduced to the barest minimum.
The statement urged the commissioners to ensure that officers and men under their supervision were mindful of the rights of the citizenry.
It also urged them to cultivate the trust and confidence of the public in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.
“All postings are with immediate effect,” the statement said.
In another development, the IG ordered six Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and 13 Commissioners of Police from various commands to proceed on a Leadership and Strategic Management Course.
The five-day course will take place at the Centre for Management Development, Shangisha, Lagos.
The IG said that the course, billed for Aug. 19 to 23, would equip the officers with requisite leadership and managerial skills necessary to drive the vision and mission of the current police management.
The six AIGs are David Omojola, Christopher Dega, Tambari Mohammed, Mark Igakwo, Sule Mamman and Adisa Bolanta.
Commissioners of Police attending the course are Isaac Eke, Marcus Danladi, Ahmed Ibrahim, Salihu Garba, Kudu Nma, Umaru Shehu, Usman Baba, Saidu Madaki, Usman Yakubu and Abdulamid Ali.
Others are Abubakar Mohammed, Kayode Aderanti and Abdul Iyaji. (NAN)
