pdp
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers has inaugurated an Evaluation Committee (EC) to assess the performance of its past and present office holders.
The chairman of the committee, Mr Osinakachukwu Ideozu, told newsmen in Port Harcourt on Thursday that the committee would not witch-hunt anybody.
He said that transparency and probity would be watchwords of the committee.
He said that members of the committee would ensure a level playing ground and equity in the discharge of its duties.
Ideozu reiterated the commitment of the committee to sanitise PDP in the state.
He promised that the committee would not fail to give credit to the party’s past and present office holders who performed creditably.
Also speaking, a former chairman of the PDP in the state, Uche Secondus, described the establishment of the committee as ‘commendable.’
He said that accountability could not be achieved without assessment, adding that the PDP was moving in line with dynamism of global politics.
Secondus said that he was invited by the committee to give account of his stewardship as chairman of the party for eight years.
The PDP chieftain expressed confidence in the ability of the committee to guarantee PDP victory at all levels in the state. (NAN)
